About Me

Hello and welcome to my website.

After working for the BBC making TV programmes for 20 years, I took the decision to re-train in reflexology after having a course of treatment myself. I was intrigued by how the reflexologist was able to tell so much about me just from touching my feet and decided this was something I wanted to learn more about.

I studied at the Maureen Burgess School of Reflexology, graduating with a Diploma in Reflexology in 2008. I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists (AOR). This means that I abide by the Association’s Code of Practice and Ethics and am committed to continually developing my skills and knowledge.  I have had articles published in the AOR’s magazine Reflexions and on wellness blogs including the Happyness Hub and Brilliant Women.

Clients come to me with a wide variety of health issues from digestive disorders and anxiety to back pain and stress. Stress in particular plays a key role in our health and a recent study has shown that releasing stress improves the body’s immune system. We work together to try and improve the body’s natural balance and this in turn encourages healing.

Some people think that you have to have something wrong with you in order to benefit from reflexology.  That isn’t true! I have many clients who come to maintain the progress they have made previously with reflexology in controlling their symptoms.  Others are in good health but feel they benefit from regular sessions in terms of managing their overall wellbeing. A client once likened it to someone cleaning up your computer by deleting old files, clearing the spam folder and rebooting your system!

The way that I work is very specialised and has taken me years to develop since I was first introduced to the technique of releasing energy in the feet by Susanne Enzer.  The process is best described as me “plugging in” and releasing stress from specific reflexes which can feel to the client like a sensation of heat, chills, tingles, twitches or a magnetic pull.  Clients report that it really helps them feel better and less stressed.

In 2010/11 I trained in maternity reflexology with Susanne Enzer, a leading authority in this specialist area. Maternity reflexology covers pre-conception and pregnancy – including turning back to back and breech babies. I have found the process of turning babies fascinating and I’m so happy for clients who find their baby has turned, avoiding an ECV or possible Caesarean section. I also do a lot of work with ladies in the last few weeks of pregnancy as they prepare for labour.

To further my knowledge, I then underwent training with Barbara Scott, the head of the Association of Reproductive Reflexologists. This indepth course looked at improving natural fertility and working with clients who are undergoing fertility treatments such as IVF. I have also studied Baby Reflex – a technique using simple reflexology that parents can use to try and help their baby with common conditions like reflux, teething and colic.

I have trained with Sally Earlam in Maternity Reflexology as an extension of my previous training in this area and it was with Sally that I studied Mindful Reflexology. This is a form of reflexology specially created to support people suffering from stress, anxiety and depression. I have found these techniques beneficial for many clients and use them widely in my treatments, ensuring a relaxing and de-stressing experience.

In 2016 I qualified in RLD – Reflexology Lymph Drainage.  RLD is an award winning reflexology technique which focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet.  The aim is to cause an effect on the lymphatic system in the body.  It is a unique sequence that has been researched and developed by Sally Kay, whilst working in cancer care.  RLD can be used in cases that would benefit from MLD (Lymphatic Drainage Massage).  These include lymphoedema, Fibromyalgia, M.E. and eczema.

In 2016 I trained in Thai Foot Massage, a relaxing massage which involves stretching and massaging the feet and lower legs and incorporates elements of Shiatsu, Reflexology and Chinese Massage. It rebalances the energy flow whilst calming the mind and body.

Following on from this training, I created my own unique blend of reflexology and Thai foot massage in the Reflexology Thai Foot Fusion.  It is a 90 minute combination of the two therapies designed to help re-balance and relax the body.

In 2022 I underwent Sally Earlam’s Reflexology for Menopause training.  I am seeing more and more women coming for support in this area as our awareness of the Menopause increases.

I am also training to be a counsellor, and am in my final year of study. I will be fully qualified in early 2025.  I am excited to be exploring this new direction alongside my holistic therapies.  I also have a Wellbeing therapy dog called Bella and she enjoys joining clients during their sessions. You can request to have a reflexology session including Bella.

I treat each client as an individual, and tailor each treatment to their specific needs. All information disclosed is confidential. I aim to provide my clients with a caring, professional service which leaves them feeling relaxed and improves their overall state of well-being.
