Trusted Support from an Experienced Teens Counsellor

I work as a counsellor with the NHS Youth Counselling Service, supporting young people with their emotional wellbeing. My style is relaxed and down-to-earth, never stuffy or clinical. I believe in meeting each young person as they are—valuing their uniqueness and creating a space where they feel safe, respected, and free to be themselves.

I Work With Teens and Young People Experiencing:

  • Anxiety and panic attacks
  • Low mood and depression
  • Academic or exam stress
  • Self-harm or suicidal thoughts
  • Low self-confidence or poor body image
  • Identity, gender, and sexuality questions
  • Difficulties with friendships or relationships
  • Family breakdown or conflict

Whether someone is struggling with a specific issue or just feeling stuck or overwhelmed, therapy can provide a space to make sense of it all—and to feel heard without judgment.

My Approach: Friendly, Relaxed, and Guided by You

I understand that talking about feelings can be hard—especially for young people who might not yet have the words to describe what they're going through. That’s why I offer a friendly, relaxed space where there's no pressure. Every session is guided by the young person, at their pace and in a way that feels safe and comfortable.

I use a variety of creative, flexible approaches to support self-expression. This may include:

  • Cards, drawing, or storytelling tools
  • Fidget toys and sensory objects, particularly helpful for neurodivergent clients
  • Metaphors, games, or visual aids to support communication when words feel difficult

These tools can help young people express themselves in ways that go beyond talking—offering new ways to explore emotions, build understanding, and feel more in control of their world.

My aim is always to meet each young person where they are, building trust and offering support that feels right for them.

For Parents and Carers looking for counsellng for teens and young people

As a parent or carer, it’s natural to want the best for your child. I understand how difficult it can be for parents to take that first step in seeking help for your child.

My approach is rooted in empathy, confidentiality and building genuine trust - creating a supportive space where your child can talk openly and begin to make sense of what they're going through.  You can feel reassured knowing that your child's wellbeing, emotional safety and growth are always my highest priorities.  I’m happy to talk through the counselling process with you and answer any questions you may have. While sessions with are confidential, I aim to work in a way that builds trust with both young clients and their families.
